A WAHM asked how I was doing with my plan of opening a Novel House in Cameron Highlands. I guess this WAHM has not been around here for some time.
Hubby and I no longer live in Cameron Highlands. We have moved back to hubby’s home town. As a result, the Novel House that we planned to open this year would never come true.
Hubby was appointed as a local councilor recently, therefore it’s impossible for him to travel to and fro every week.
As for me, I am managing my multiple niche blogs at home. I am still as busy as a bee writing tons of reviews, researching New York movers, doing price comparisons day in and day out.

Posted by Home Cleaning Work At Home Mom in : Vacation , add a commentOnce in a while, I will miss my life in Cameron Highlands. Hubby and I worked and lived there for more than 5 years before we moved back to hubby’s hometown.
I miss the cool climate and fresh air of Cameron Highlands.
I still remember those cold days when I was completing tons of pending Schlage assignments while sipping hot coffee. Wrapping myself with blanket while typing one blog post after another was an enjoyable thing to do at that time.
Will I move back to Cameron Highlands one day? Well, not likely. But going there for a vacation is definitely possible.

Posted by Home Cleaning Work At Home Mom in : Work At Home , add a commentWhen it comes to picturesque scenery, luxuriant greenery and cool climate, I can’t help but thinking about Cameron Highlands. It’s been more than 5 months since hubby and I moved back to Ipoh.
I truly miss the temperature there, from a minimum of 14 C to a maximum of 25 C. I still remember I was wearing a sweater while writing the review for Las Vegas hotels.
And now I am also writing a review for las vegas hotels. The difference is that the temperature in Ipoh is more than 32 C. Hot, hot, hot.

Getting supplies for dried flowers, organic products, handmade woven handbags, handmade rattan baskets by Orang Asli, local handicrafts or bamboo made gifts is not a problem at all as hubby and I are living in Cameron Highlands blessed with these unique products.
Unfortunately, there has been no action so far. This is due to the fact that I am deep in credit card debts at the moment. I simply do not have any spare money to open my own shop.
I was told by my fellow friend that I could start my own online store instead. My only two concerns are:
1. Is there any trial period ? I do not want to rush into something that ends up creating more troubles to me.
2. Is it expensive to use the ecommerce software ? There is no way I can spend a chunk on shopping cart software.

Since the roads are very curvy for at least 2 hours to the top, and the rain can be rushing down the hillside and you don’t know what you will encounter around the corner.
The road to Ringlet is narrow and winding. Commercial trucks dressed up with or without torza tonneau covers tend to travel at unsafe speeds taking corners at the absolute limit of adhesion to the road. (more…)
Any Trust Funds, Insurance Policies Or Real Estate ? October 25, 2007
Posted by Home Cleaning Work At Home Mom in : Insurance , add a commentI was surprised that a long long friend called me this morning. I mean she managed to find my phone number even though I had left Kuala Lumpur for more than 5 years and my cell phone was no longer the same.
Apparently, she went to my uncle’s house and got my phone from him. Upon hearing that she is an insurance agent, I was like … oops …
As expected, she asked how my teaching is in Cameron Highlands and if I have made any investments such as trust funds, insurance or real estate.
You know what she wants, right ? Typical insurance agent….boring questions ! I told her that I am loaded with tonnes of credit card debts and barely make ends meet. I still have credit card payments, home loan, personal loans, car loan, rental, term life insurance policies, and lots of expenses that suffocates me every month.
Guess what ? She didn’t dare to ask me further about my financial status, let alone insurance policies.

Occasionally, the parents of my students in Cameron Highlands will send me some fresh or dried floral arrangements. They know I love flowers a lot.
Though they are beautiful to behold, cleaning the dust off dried floral arrangements is the last thing I want to do in my list. They are so brittle and fragile, not like golf balls
Fortunately, a buddy shared with me how I can do it with ease.
Use my hairdryer, set on cool and on the lowest air speed. Hold hairdryer about ten inches from the arrangement and work from top to bottom. It’s best to do this outdoors so the dust doesn’t land on something else in my home.

My hubby and I live in Cameron Highlands which is a leading producer of vegetables and flowers.
Whenever we go back to Kuala Lumpur or our friends and family come here for holidays, we will give them vegetables or flowers as gifts. Besides that, local handicrafts such as handwoven handbags and purses are considered great gifts or souvenirs.

I wish that buying our second home in Cameron Highlands will come true soon. My hubby and I have decided that once our credit card debt has zoomed down to $30,000, we can think of buying an apartment in Cameron Highlands. After all, it is possible to buy a house with ‘No Money Down’ or with $500 or $100 for down payment.
Wood furniture and home decor have always been our first choice due to their classic taste and natural aroma.

We plan to set up our business around April next year, selling, buying and renting novels and magazines. I love novels very much, therefore I am thrilled that I am doing the things I love. Isn’t life wonderful and meaningful if we can do the things we love ?
We know some book suppliers in Ipoh who can give us books at very low prices. Our target readers are tourists having a short stay or vacation in Cameron Highlands.
