My poor blogging pal’s baby! I was just told that she was hit on her head when the tv stand in the living room got loose and dropped on her head.

Her head was bleeding so much that my blogging pal was scared to death.

Thank God after a thorough checkup at a local hospital, she was allowed to go home.

No one would have expected this kind of incident. I really hope the baby gets well soon.

I am waiting for fence installation at home while hubby goes out for breakfast.

The guy was supposed to be here an hour earlier to install the new stainless steel fence. Talking about fence, I loved the wooden fence that I came across if compared to the stainless steel one. I had to take the stainless steel one because the wood one is not as durable and safe.

I am still waiting for the day when my credit card debt zooms down to $30,000. I am still loaded with $41,331. From $63,809 to $41,331.

If you have decided to install an alarm system in your home, you will need to be sure that the alarm company you choose can provide the service that it promises to deliver.

Here are some general tips you need to know before deciding which company you choose to spend money on alarm system monitoring and services.

1. Ask if the company carries general liability, workman’s compensation, and errors or omissions insurance. You can ask for certificates of insurance for these items. If the company is not properly protected, any claims or losses may fall on you, the homeowner. (more…)

Street-Smart Tips For Safety October 24, 2007

When you are on the road, stay alert at all times and be aware of your surroundings. Trust your instincts. Keep the telephone numbers of the police stations near where you live and work.

  • Stick to well-travelled streets. Avoid shortcuts through wooded areas, parking lots or alleys.
  • Don’t flash large amounts of cash or other “inviting” items like expensive jewellery or watches.
  • Carry a purse or bag close to your body; don’t dangle it by the strap. Put a wallet in an inside coat or front pants pocket, not a back pocket.
  • Try to use automated teller machines (ATMs) in the daytime. Have your card in hand and don’t approach the machine if you’re uneasy about people nearby.
  • Don’t wear shoes or clothing that restrict your movement.
  • Have your keys in hand before you reach your car or house.
  • If you think someone is following you, switch direction or cross the street. Walk toward an open store, restaurant or lighted house. If you’re afraid, yell for help.
  • If you have to work late, make sure there are others in the building, and ask someone – a colleague or security guard – to walk you to your car or transit stop.

So, thinking of playing firecrackers on the eve of Hari Raya ? Think twice ! Customs enforcement officers will be patrolling residential areas to catch those playing with firecrackers and fireworks.

Once caught red-handed, you will be slapped with RM100 compounds. You will go straight to court if you are found with firecrackers worth more than RM1,000.
