Are you looking for Mother’s Day gifts for your loved one, your mom, your grandmas, or your female buddies? What about steam cleaners as Mother’s Day gifts?
Do you know how frustrating it is for them to clean carpets? I’m ashamed to admit that my carpets hadn’t been cleaned in 2 years as lots of dirt gets tracked in from outside. Thinking of cleaning the carpets once a week just made me tired.
To ease my work, my hubby bought me a steam cleaner. The steam cleaner did a very nice job the first time I used it - a drastically noticeable difference in the appearance of the carpet. One of this cleaner’s best features is the ability to dry the carpet quite thoroughly.
As time has passed, the steam cleaner has done an excellent job of maintaining my carpets.

Do not rush cleaning. This advice is important for just about every stain out there. You should give your cleaning solution time to work, undisturbed, for at least as long as the directions call for. If you are using a home made cleaning product, fifteen minutes is a good rule to follow. Apply your cleaner and then leave the stain alone for the necessary amount of time.
Another important stain removal tip is to clean any stain that occurs immediately. This may not always be possible, but the sooner you clean it, the better your chances are of removing it successfully. The longer a stain is allowed to sit, the harder it becomes to remove. Apply your cleaner fast and then let it soak. (more…)
Do Household Chores On Weekends After 5 Days’ Blogging & Making Money Online March 14, 2008
Posted by Home Cleaning Work At Home Mom in : House / Home Cleaning Tips , add a commentI dislike doing household chores…;D I think that it’s a waste of my precious time doing housework. I would rather spend my time blogging, making money, watching movies and reading magazines than cleaning dirty sinks, scraping off liquid-chocolate stains and keeping my hubby’s tool storage.
How I wish I could hire a maid soon to clean the house for me ! Fortunately, I am living in a small apartment which is quite easy to clean. Just do a bit of dusting before my classes start or while waiting for my students to arrive.
I am lucky to have a considerate hubby who is willing to share some household chores…;D He is in charge of mopping the floor, washing dishes and cleaning the bathroom. Poor buddies of mine ! They have to do all the housework themselves.
10 Quick & Easy Housecleaning Tips For Your Home February 27, 2008
Posted by Home Cleaning Work At Home Mom in : House / Home Cleaning Tips , add a commentArghh! The house is a mess…again! Why do I even bother attempting the impossible? I’ll tell you why I do it. For one thing, I don’t like living in a mess. Another reason is that people tend to show up unexpectedly.
That last reason alone is enough to get me to make sure that the path to the bathroom is cleared of rubble and that the bathroom itself is clean with smells of pine.
If your house is a mess… again, here are 10 house cleaning tips to help you out.
1. Make a house cleaning schedule.
2. Survey each room in your home, look for the trouble spots and decide on how you’re going to get them cleaned up. Here you can decide what tools you’ll need, what can be thrown away or better yet, who you can assign the task to.
3. Get help. Rome was not built in a day and I’m certain it wasn’t built by one Roman. If there are others living and breathing in the house with you, get them to help.
4. Gather your cleaning supplies. A big time waster and distraction when cleaning is running up and down getting a broom or cleaners or whatever you need to complete the task that you’re doing. So before you get started make sure you have what you need. (more…)

How To Clean Dried Floral Arrangements ? February 20, 2008
Posted by Home Cleaning Work At Home Mom in : House / Home Cleaning Tips , add a commentOccasionally, the parents of my students in Cameron Highlands will send me some fresh or dried floral arrangements. They know I love flowers a lot!
Though they are beautiful to behold, cleaning the dust off dried floral arrangements is the last thing I want to do in my list. They are so brittle and fragile.
Fortunately, a buddy shared with me how I can do it with ease. Use my hairdryer, set on cool and on the lowest air speed. Hold hairdryer about ten inches from the arrangement and work from top to bottom. It’s best to do this outdoors so the dust doesn’t land on something else in my home.

1. Glass. Add a cup of vinegar into a bucket of warm water. Dip a cloth into the mixture, then use it to wipe clean glass and mirrors. Dry with crumpled newspapers (rubber gloves prevent newsprint stains on your fingers).
2. Shower curtains. Put dirty shower curtains in the washing machine and use a gentle cycle. In addition to your usual detergent, also add half-cup vinegar and half-cup bleach to get rid of stubborn stains and grime.
3. Fridge. Regular cleaning of trapped dust behind the fridge keeps it running efficiently. Attach a sock with a rubber band to the end of a ruler for those hard-to-reach places. Dip the sock in a half-water, half-vinegar solution, then wipe down the coils at the back.

Phew…Fortunately, a buddy of mine shared with me how I could remove the liquid-chocolate stains from the light beige medium-pile carpet. Otherwise, I would have to donate it or leave it in my own house.
This is the tip to remove those stains fast. Scrape off as much chocolate residue as you can. Then, with a white paper towel or clean cloth, apply dry-cleaning fluid to the stains and blot.
If any stain remains, apply a solution of 1/4 teaspoon mild white detergent and 1 cup of room-temperature water. Work from the outer edge of the stain to the middle - always blotting, not rubbing. Rinse with clear water to remove soap residue.

Plant. grow your seeds and new cuttings between February and May. The year overcast skies don’t encourage rapid plant growth, while the hot mid-year rob plants of moisture.
