Residential Care Homes & Nursing Homes For The Elderly February 8, 2008

My buddy told me that a supergranny living in a care home or nursing home completed her first charity parachute jump at the age of 84. My eyes popped wide open while my jaw almost dropped to the floor when I heard this true life story.

This supernanny, Doreen , was one of the six daredevils who raised £6,000 for Brendoncare where she lives and also a few other care homes.

This is truly amazing! For Chinese, we always think that stepping into 60 years old is like half way into the graves. The elderly have the tendency to wait for their doomsday instead of living their lives to the fullest .

Hubby and love to discuss where we should spend our old age. Besides serious discussion, we also spend spare time reading care options that are available for both of us, reading daily care news and views, and receiving tips from care experts.

Apparently, residential care homes and nursing homes are most preferred by most people. All are expected to provide living accommodation, meals, help with personal care such as dressing, supervision of medication, someone on call at night and companionship. Some residential care homes specialize in providing services for people with special needs such as dementia.

Most care homes use a cumbersome paper-based filing system, but assisted living software can cut down the paperwork, and make sure that nothing is missed, leading to both greater efficiency and better care.

Care homes can reduce operating costs through reduction of paperwork, save critical duplicative nursing labor time and have one common system between multiple facilities.

Caregivers get proven best practices for resident management, staff assignment and tracking, true level-of-care billing, marketing, and risk management right at their fingertips.

Last week, my neighbor opposite my old house in the village behaved very strangely. He seemed to talk to himself in the house ever since he was out of the drug rehabilitation center.

Hubby said that drug addicts tend to go through this phase before their lives end ! I trust what hubby told me because his brother was a drug addict too. Before he passed on, he did behave strangely.

Drug abuse is still rampant is small villages in Malaysia. It was like this and it still is.

My sister-in-law is a funny woman. Whenever I go back to Ipoh, she loves keeping me up with the latest news and updates in the village.

Who and who has passed on, who and who has been involved in accident or who and who has been caught and placed in the drug rehabilitation center. Arrggh… I hate to listen to all these negatives news that only bring depression to people.

The only way to stop her from telling negative stuffs is by complaining to my hubby…;D and he will tell her of.

Help Your Loved One Get Help If He Or She Has Drug Addiction August 24, 2007

My hubby and I were back from our holidays. We reached Ipoh yesterday evening. Upon stepping into the house, my sister-in-law warned me to be careful as the drug addict opposite our house had been released from the drug rehab. Gosh ! I really hope that he turn over a new leaf this time.

Whenever I see my neighbor, I tend to think of my brother-in-law who was once a drug addict. He had also been in and out of drug rehab centers many times. If I am not mistaken, he started getting involved in drug addiction in the 90s.

Though my brother-in-law had successfully kicked off his drug addiction and turned over a new leaf, taking drugs took its toll on his health. He died of internal organ failures which was caused by the harmful effects of drug.

My hubby told me that my brother-in-law attribute his success to choosing a right drug treatment. He emphasized on the importance of choosing drug rehab centers that care for drug addicts and treat them with dignity as they heal physically, mentally and spiritually.

My hubby and I take the issue of drug abuse very seriously. Whenever we come to know that friends or neighbours are involved in drug addiction, we will recommend to them any drug rehab centers that can help them start a new life. We always believe that there is life after drug recovery.
