As a longtime camping enthusiast, I have made sure our family has done lots of camping together. Over the years, I have learned, mostly by trial and error, what works and what doesn’t in a camping environment with kids. So, if you want to have a good family camping trip, here are some tried and true methods to make camping fun and rewarding.
Come Prepared. Besides your campsite, the best predictor of family camping success is the level of your preparation. The Boy Scout motto of “Be Prepared” really has a place in the camping world. Your basic camping gear and equipment for any outdoor experience should include at least the following:
* First aid kit – well stocked and replenished
* Tent with rain fly and ground cloth
* Sleeping bags with appropriate rating for temperature
* Camping mattresses, cots or foam pads
* Rain Gear—especially light-weight ponchos for everyone
* Flashlights
* Extra batteries
* Camping stove and fuel
* Camping lantern and fuel
* Camping cook set including can openers
* Water carriers
* Waterproof containers
* Sunscreen
* Insect repellent
* Camping cooler
Why Employers & Job Seekers Prefer Online Resume And Application February 27, 2008
Posted by Home Cleaning Work At Home Mom in : Make Money , add a commentWhy do employers prefer online job applications? Employers prefer online resume and application submission for several reasons. With online submissions the amount of paper in the office is minimized. Opening mail, filing and resume retention and the problems with resume retrieval for subsequent positions are eliminated. Even the space necessary to store paper resumes is a problem in many offices.
From the job seeker perspective, online employment application systems work well. Applicants can apply online for specific jobs such as positions at any time that is convenient for them, with just a few mouse clicks.
At larger employers, and on many job sites, job seekers can keep track of the positions they have applied for. There’s no need for printing, copying or mailing and applying online saves on postage.
In addition, it’s faster - applicants can apply online, resumes can be reviewed and interviews scheduled very quickly. For example, a buddy of mine was called within an hour of emailing her resume for one of the risk management jobs. She was interviewed the next day and offered a position the day after. If she had mailed her resume it would have still been in the mail.
10 Quick & Easy Housecleaning Tips For Your Home February 27, 2008
Posted by Home Cleaning Work At Home Mom in : House / Home Cleaning Tips , add a commentArghh! The house is a mess…again! Why do I even bother attempting the impossible? I’ll tell you why I do it. For one thing, I don’t like living in a mess. Another reason is that people tend to show up unexpectedly.
That last reason alone is enough to get me to make sure that the path to the bathroom is cleared of rubble and that the bathroom itself is clean with smells of pine.
If your house is a mess… again, here are 10 house cleaning tips to help you out.
1. Make a house cleaning schedule.
2. Survey each room in your home, look for the trouble spots and decide on how you’re going to get them cleaned up. Here you can decide what tools you’ll need, what can be thrown away or better yet, who you can assign the task to.
3. Get help. Rome was not built in a day and I’m certain it wasn’t built by one Roman. If there are others living and breathing in the house with you, get them to help.
4. Gather your cleaning supplies. A big time waster and distraction when cleaning is running up and down getting a broom or cleaners or whatever you need to complete the task that you’re doing. So before you get started make sure you have what you need. (more…)
Buy Unique Kitchen Gifts: KitchenAid KMCC1KB Stand Mixer Cloth Cover, Khaki With Black Trim - In Stock On 26, February 2008 February 27, 2008
Posted by Home Cleaning Work At Home Mom in : Buy Unique Kitchen Gifts , add a commentI’ve had my Artisan 5 Quart Kitchenaid Stand Mixer for a few years now, and always thought that this KitchenAid KMCC1KB Stand Mixer Cloth Cover, Khaki With Black Trim was a bit of a luxury, and that I could easily find fifty other things to spend twenty-five bucks on.
Even for all of that, it occurred to me recently that, with cats in my house, a cover for my stand mixer would save me some pre-mixing clean-up time. Now that I’ve gotten my KitchenAid KMCC1KB Stand Mixer Cloth Cover, Khaki With Black Trim, I’m thrilled that I decided to buy it!
This KitchenAid KMCC1KB Stand Mixer Cloth Cover, Khaki With Black Trim is plenty big for my mixer. I leave all of the attachments in the bowl, as I’m sure your average Kitchenaid stand mixer owner does, and this cover fits over everything with plenty of room to spare. The bottom edge of the cover hits the countertop and covers every inch of my mixer, with no problem doing so.
I even put the KitchenAid KMCC1KB Stand Mixer Cloth Cover, Khaki With Black Trim in the washer and dryer after receiving it, to see how much it might shrink. Mine didn’t shrink at all, and the laundering got it fragrant and wrinkle-free.
Even though my stand mixer is white, I opted for the khaki cover, which blends in perfectly with my kitchen cabinets and counter tops.
This may not have been the absolute best thing I’ve ever gotten on Amazon for $25.00 or less (that’d be my Weber chimney starter - best damned $12.00 I’ve spent in a long time!!!), but this is right up there with the best of my best-buy-for-the-money purchases!
Being A Beautician In The US Makes More Money February 23, 2008
Posted by Home Cleaning Work At Home Mom in : Make Money , add a commentOne of my best friends has decided to work as a part-time beautician in the U.S. While working, she will enroll herself in one of the beauty schools in Minneapolis to further improve her knowledge and skills.
Regency which was founded 50 years ago is the fastest growing beauty school in the states. As Regency has a network of placement relationships, from salons to cruise ships and runways, my friend is rest-assured that she can secure a great job in the states.
Earning USD1 is equal to RM3.19 now. So, working in the states is definitely better than working in Malaysia.
Nearly everyone has had a financial emergency at some time in their life. Unfortunately some have no family near to turn to. A payday loan can assist you in getting back on your feet by giving you a quick loan.
Buy Unique Gifts: Braun Tassimo TA 1400 Hot Beverage System - In Stock On 23, February 2008 February 23, 2008
Posted by Home Cleaning Work At Home Mom in : Buy Unique Kitchen Gifts , add a commentI enjoy one cup of coffee each morning.
The Tassimo coffee machine allows me to make one cup very easily and have my choice of type and style of coffee each day. I enjoy this machine very much.
Before I tried my new Tassimo machine, I was concerned by some reviews that claim Tassimo makes lukewarm coffee. I want my coffee burn-lips-off hot, period.
It turns out, my lips were not burnt, but the coffee is hot.
Immediately after the coffee was made, I can only take small sips, and that’s the effect I really want.
Other than that, Tassimo machine is extremely low-maintenance. I haven’t cleaned it once since I started to use it a couple of weeks ago.
I know I am lazy.

Where To Order Wedding Flowers February 23, 2008
Posted by Home Cleaning Work At Home Mom in : Love n Marriage , add a commentFor me, flowers are one of the most important aspects of a wedding. They bring color, life, and aroma to a wedding. They help make table settings more beautiful, and can transform a formerly dull space into a beautiful personality-filled one. Yet they can also be confusing for a beginner, and a budget breaker for many, as well as an excuse to spend your wedding sneezing for some.
Before you order your wedding flowers, check out FiftyFlowers that provides wedding events with premium roses, calla lilies, rose petals, gerbera daisies, hydrangeas, peonies and many other flowers and greens.
As FiftyFlowers removes the wholesalers and retailers from the flower supply chain, customers are able to buy flowers at a below wholesale cost and thus saving up to 75% on their flower cost.
In addition to that, FiftyFlowers uses overnight express shipping so that the flowers are shipped overnight express from the flower farms, where they are cut fresh, processed, and placed in bulk bundles to the customers.

What You Should Have Handy In The Case Of Power Outage February 22, 2008
Posted by Home Cleaning Work At Home Mom in : Gifts , add a commentWe don’t have serious natural disasters in Gopeng, but we do have power outages from time to time. If power outages happen at night, we really need our rechargeable flashlight so that we can endure the outage in safety.
Besides flashlights, here are other examples of products that you should have handy in the case of an emergency or power outage. They are battery-operated fan, emergency radio, shake flashlights, first aid kit and bulk batteries.
Several of these items, wrapped in in one big box, would make a thoughtful housewarming gift!
