What About A Vacation At The Outer Banks Of North Carolina ? January 26, 2008

Posted by Home Cleaning Work At Home Mom in : Vacation , add a comment

The Outer Banks of North Carolina consist of a chain of barrier islands bordered by the Atlantic Ocean on one side and a series of wide, shallow sounds on the other.

While it feels remote, the Outer Banks of North Carolina is an easily accessible “drive to” destination, offering an abundance of natural beauty and a chance to experience history first hand.

Imagine relaxing on one of the many uncrowded beaches, exploring a wildlife preserve, visiting the lighthouses and the Wright Brothers’ Monument, watching the sunset at Jockey’s Ridge, spending an evening reliving history at The Lost Colony, or trying your luck at fishing, crabbing and searching for treasures along the beach ! Life is simply wonderful, isn’t it ?

The Outer Banks are also home to a vast array of wildlife, plants and animals that have evolved to thrive in the demanding environment. The perseverance of Outer Banks is a testament of the area’s rugged natural beauty and mystery.

Luxury Las Vegas Hotel Rooms January 26, 2008

While reading my travel articles and reviews just now, I came across a featured article introducing some Las Vegas hotels. I was so enthralled by one of the luxury hotel rooms that I told my hubby we must have a vacation to Las Vegas in future.

My hubby had a peep of the photo and said jokingly,”I think you are attracted by the television more than the beauty of Las Vegas.”

Ooopss ! My hubby knows me well ! I love staying at the hotel watching televising more than going out for a tour. Whenever we go back to Kuala Lumpur, I love to stay at the hotel watching one movie after another movie while my hubby enjoys his shopping sprees.

Make Money From Being A Foot Reflexologist Again January 25, 2008

Hubby has to go back to being a Foot Reflexologist for the time being. Why ? Well, his partnership with his buddy didn’t work out well.

I was disappointed at first because of hubby’s salary, company car, meal allowance, housing allowance and a cell phone which could help pay off our credit card debts fast. Quitting the job means giving up about $4,000 monthly !

Fortunately, he can easily earn more than $2,000 monthly from being a Foot Reflexologist (again). His patients like him very much, therefore getting them back to do foot treatments shouldn’t be any problem at all.

Besides, all his lotion, disposable gloves and foot reflexology tools are still in the storeroom. He can start his work anytime from now.

Use Shopping Cart Software By Ashop Commerce To Set Up Online Stores January 21, 2008

The thought of owning a Malaysian handmade rattan and bamboo handbags and handicrafts shop has been clouding my mind for many years.

Getting supplies for dried flowers, organic products, handmade woven handbags, handmade rattan baskets by Orang Asli, local handicrafts or bamboo made gifts is not a problem at all as hubby and I are living in Cameron Highlands blessed with these unique products.

Unfortunately, there has been no action so far. This is due to the fact that I am deep in credit card debts at the moment. I simply do not have any spare money to open my own shop.

I was told by my fellow friend that I could start my own online store instead. My only two concerns are:

1. Is there any trial period ? I do not want to rush into something that ends up creating more troubles to me.

2. Is it expensive to use the ecommerce software ? There is no way I can spend a chunk on shopping cart software.

I went in search for better shopping cart software providers and managed to narrow down the list of ecommerce software to two companies and tried on them as they provide 10-day and 14-day trial period respectively.

After the third day, I decided to go on with Ashop Commerce shopping cart software as it is very easy to use.

With just a click, the Tutorial movies for every software function lead us all the way. The downloadable manual will help those that are not so savvy, and it can be read from cover to cover within a few hours.

Ashop Commerce shopping cart software is fully interfaced with Pay Pal, WorldPay and many other systems and securely hosted on Ashop server. Thus, customers can be rest-assured that their personal details will not be revealed to others and shop safely.

One advantage that Ashop’s ecormerce shopping cart software over other ecommerce software providers is its storefront structure that is built especially for major search engines. That means we can see dramatic increase in search engine ranking positions, thus bringing more traffic and sales.

Deal With Poker-Faced Paul January 20, 2008

Paul is everywhere - he’s the security guard at your office building, the estate manager at your condo, or anyone with some form of authority.

His common refrain:”No ma’am. I have to follow the rules.”

You know that if he wanted, he could allow you to leave the car at the lobby for three minutes while you scuttle to your office to retrieve a document, or approve a resident’s pass for your mum, who comes by every day to look after your kids.

Deal with it. Never act aggressively towards Paul - rules are rules. Treat him with respect and he may eventually bend the rules for you.

Do not flirt to get your way - you don’t want to end up with unsavory label.

Give Wine Racks As Chinese New Year Gifts January 20, 2008

Time to shop for Chinese New Year goodies and gifts. It is only a few weeks away !

Chinese New Year is the longest and most important celebration in the Chinese calendar. The Chinese New Year begins on February 7, 2008.

This year is the year of rat. Legend has it that in ancient times, Buddha asked all the animals to meet him on Chinese New Year. Twelve came, and Buddha named a year after each one. He announced that the people born in each animal’s year would have some of that animal’s personality.

Those born in rat years tend to be leaders, pioneers, and conquerors. They are charming, passionate, charismatic, practical and hardworking. Gwyneth Paltrow, Ben Affleck, Samuel L. Jackson, William Shakespeare, and Mozart were all born in the year of the rat.

At Chinese New Year celebrations, people wear red clothes, decorate with poems on red paper, and give children “lucky money” in red envelopes. Red symbolizes fire, which according to legend can drive away bad luck.

In China, the New Year is a time of family reunion. Family members gather at each other’s homes for visits and shared meals, most significantly a feast on New Year’s Eve.

This morning, hubby reminded me to find him some Wine Rack for his business partner. His business partner is a wine lover. Whenever we drop by at his place, he will treat us red wine. Not one bottle, but a few bottles ! You know, Chinese love to drink until drunk.

Wine racks offer both the amateur wine lover or the die-hard wine fanatic an elegant and useful storage system, therefore we would love to buy him wine racks as Chinese New Year gifts.

Sometimes, he does give us tips on storing wine: keep your wine racks out of direct sunlight; keep your wine racks in a room with a fairly constant temperature; choose the right wine racks can help make your wine cellar or kitchen more interesting; collect your wines you’ll want to display them for your guests or solid wood wine racks can be left unfinished for bulk storage or finished to your preference.

4 Tips On Getting The Best Buy In A Treadmill January 20, 2008

Posted by Home Cleaning Work At Home Mom in : Health , add a comment

Studies have shown that people get more out of a treadmill than other fitness equipment, because it is natural to walk or run and you are more apt to stick with it for longer each session and keep using the equipment itself.

Finding the best treadmill for your budget can be a chore. You must know what you are looking for to get the best buy in a treadmill.

1. Price. You get what you pay for when it comes to treadmills, but for most of us any treadmill is going to be a significant investment. When you shop by price, you must be even more careful to select the best in that price range.

The price ranges generally break down to budget ($500 to $1,500), mid-range ($1,500 to $3,000) and quality ($,3000 and up). There are often significant sales and discounts.

2. Treadmill motor and horsepower. The motor matters - it gets the heaviest workout. Shop for 1.5 to 2.5 HP “continuous duty.” Look for the longest warranty on the motor — 1 year at least.

3. Treadmill stability and smooth ride.Test treadmills wearing your workout shoes and clothes. A shaky or jerky ride is not acceptable. The hand rails should feel sturdy enough to support you and be in a good position to grip easily and not block your arm motion. The belt must be wide enough and long enough for your stride.

4. Noise and space. The treadmill needs to work in your space. How noisy is it? If you plan to watch TV or listen to music, you need to be able to hear those over the treadmill itself. A model that looks small in the store can turn into an elephant in your spare room. Check its size when folded or stored and test how easy it is to move.

Move Back To Home In Gopeng Or Ipoh ? January 20, 2008

Posted by Home Cleaning Work At Home Mom in : Homes , add a comment

Life is definitely full of surprises. Honestly, I couldn’t take it properly this time. I am so stressed out now.

Hubby was recently assigned by his long-time buddy to be a Branch Manager at one of the oil palm estates. These two weeks, unpleasant incidents happened between two of them, especially about salary and allowances that his buddy promised earlier. Apparently, his buddy didn’t deliver what he insisted that he would fight for hubby.

Yesterday, hubby made up his mind to quit his job. I am worried because quiting means there is no income from hubby’s part.

Meanwhile, my income online has dropped to less than $1,000 a month recently. I stopped my classes in Cameron Highlands after hubby decided to work for his buddy. So, I have no income from tuition classes at all.

We are supposed to move to the new place next week. Now, I guess we have to move back either to our own home Ipoh or old house in Gopeng.

If we move back to the old wooden house in Gopeng, we have to see those buddies of my neighbor who are drug addicts again. I just wish that they could be sent into any drug rehab center so that I don’t have to see them.

Shop For Plasma TV Lift For Home January 20, 2008

Now you see it ! Now you don’t ! Cool man ! Look at this plasma lift! I was looking for some furniture when I came across this console plasma TV lift.

With just a touch of a button, a built in plug n’ play, infra-red control raises your television from behind closed doors with quiet, elegant ease.

Similarly, the television is lowered into the beautiful console with the same ease: your flat panel TV will be concealed inside the console when not in use!

It will be another strong excuse for me to stay at home instead of going shopping.

However, watching television for hours on end has huge effects on activity levels, eating habits, social interaction, and the ability to accomplish tasks.
