Get Me My Toolbox, Please !

Almost every family in Cameron Highlands owns a truck. It’s not surprising at all to see that some even have a few trucks as they have numerous fruit and vegetable farms.

It’s a common sight to see trucks fully equipped with truck toolboxes. They are must-have for trucks as they come in handy to truck drivers whenever the trucks break down at midnight and no one is in sight at that moment !

Though we are not driving any truck, we also put a medium truck toolbox in our car for safety and convenience purposes.

How To Avoid Speed Traps & Saman In Malaysia ?

Fellow Malaysians, please drive carefully on federal and state roads by abiding by the 80kph speed limit as the National Day Celebration is around the corner. Ops Sikap will be launched soon to lower the death toll on federal and state roads.

If you have the tendency to exceed the speed limit, jump queue, beat the red light, use the emergency lane or overtake along double lines ,you will be slapped with a maximum fine of RM300 !!

What about installing a radar detector to determine if your speed is being monitored by a radar unit ? Are radar detectors completely legal to use ? Yes, in non-commercial vehicles in 49 states. Only Virginia and Washington D.C. currently ban radar detector use in the United States.

What about Malaysia ? As far as I am concerned – Tak Boleh !! Illegal !

According to a friend who is a Physics lecturer, he confirms that there is no way that the police can detect the use of a radar detector unless it is under laboratory conditions.

To Save Time, I Use Budgeting Software For My Debt Management

Yeahoo.. my credit card debt has gone down to $56,836 from $63,806.

It seems that what we have been doing has worked wonder ! Share with you what my hubby and I did to cut down our credit card debt.

Firstly, we cut off our credit cards. This is to avoid adding new debt to our existing balance.

Secondly, cut down our expenses on meals at restaurants, shopping sprees and luxury items.

Thirdly, do budgeting. I am kind of a lazy bone when it comes to recording daily expenses and doing spreadsheet, therefore I resort to budgeting software that saves me time and hassle. Time saved can actually be used to make more money to pay off my debt.

I Love ‘Made In China’ Products

As a Malaysian Chinese, I am so used to products ‘Made in China‘.

From toiletries such as soap, shampoo, detergent, brushes, towels to kitchen utensils like cookware, cutlery, gas stove and the list goes on. Look around my house now: radio, television, DVD player, refrigerator, cordless phone.

Look at myself now: clothes, undergarment, handbags, accessories, shoes …. you name it.. they are all products ‘Made in China’.

Honestly speaking, I support products made in China based on the fact that they are cheap and durable. Everybody can afford them. Isn’t it great to consumers ?

What about quality ? You can get high quality products made in China too. Just recently, my hubby and I came across some retro Air Jordan replica sneakers of the original brand and are brand new with retro cards.

I bet most people can not tell the difference. They are about half the price of what you would pay in most retail stores.

As a smart consumer, I look for long lasting products. I don’t care if the products are made in China, India, Malaysia or the USA.

Have You Had Memory Upgrade For Your Computer, Miss ?

Filed under: Computer / Internet — Tags: , — Home Cleaning Work At Home Mom @ 12:01 pm

I was in Ipoh yesterday, trying to buy ink cartridge for my printer.

While I was getting my stuff packed, a sales executive asked if I would like to have my computer memory upgraded. Are you using Samsung Memory, SDRAM Modules, DDR Modules or EDO Modules, Miss ?

I was like, “Huh ?? I beg your pardon ?” Honestly speaking, I really do not know what kind of memory my computer is running. I just know that I bought my computer with $2,000 and it is functioning well at the moment.

This sales executive was kind enough to give me a website address and ask me to install a software that can detect my computer memory. If you are as confused as I am, use the memory wizard here to help you detect the type of computer memory you are using.

Once you know the memory type, you can search for the best price of memory upgrade like IBM memory upgrade, Dell memory upgrade, Compaq memory upgrade by comparing name brands.

Sitting Comfortably On My Teak Furniture While Sipping Hot Coffee & Blogging

My hubby and I live in Cameron Highlands located in Pahang, Malaysia. Have you ever been here before ?

If you love picturesque scenery, luxuriant greenery and cool climate, Cameron Highlands is a perfect getaway for you and many Malaysians. Most of my friends who live in Kuala Lumpur envy that I live here. Living here is like having holiday .

The temperature here ranges from a minimum of 14 C to a maximum of 25 C. I am wearing sweater and socks now while typing my post.

Due to cool climate here, the locals in Cameron Highlands prefer teak furniture for home decor and teak outdoor furniture. It is well-known for its natural beauty and unrivaled durability. It brings warmth compared to plastic or metal furniture.

Another reason that I like teak is because of its faint, pleasant aromatic smell…Hmmm..the pleasant smell of wood can refresh my mind while blogging in the comfort of my home.

Have You Tried Juggling Golf Balls Before ?

Filed under: Health — Tags: , — Home Cleaning Work At Home Mom @ 10:19 am

Do you like juggling balls ? Yes, I do. Whenever I feel stressed and lack of new ideas, I will juggle balls for 10 minutes. Once I am relaxed enough, new ideas will just flow in abundantly.

I even teach my students to juggle balls. Believe me, kids like this very much. Whenever the students’ learning curve starts wearing off, I will let them juggle balls for at least 5 to 10 minutes to relax themselves.

Over the years, I have used tennis balls, golf balls, plastic balls, table tennis balls, squash balls as juggling balls.

I recently got the chance to buy some used Titleist golf balls in Cameron Highlands as there are a few golf courses trying to get rid of these used balls.
