The door bell rang, so I went to have a look who was there.
“Hi, madam. I am Mike from XYZ company. We are running a lucky draw contest at the moment.There are fabulous prizes like hand phones, DVD players, televisions sets and the Grand Prize is - A ViVa national car ! It’s free to take part ….”
I had to interrupted this man abruptly before he went on with his tale, “I am sorry. I am not interested. Thanks”
Am I rude ? Well, we have to be like this in Malaysia. There are too many scams out there conning people. Women, especially the elderly, are their target. That’s why we have to bang our doors on salesmen.
There is exception, though. If they are doing market research or marketing surveys, then I don’t mind answering their questionnaires. In fact, it is quite fun. Sometimes, we are given free gifts such as towels and personal care products.
